About Ziplicit

I started Ziplicit because I ran into the exact problem it solves.

I run a small service business, and when I looked at expanding into a new ZIP code, I wanted a straight answer to a simple question: is this market worth competing in? What I found instead was scattered. A competitor count here, a demographic report there, none of it tied together, none of it telling me what I actually needed to know before I spent real money finding out the hard way.

So I built the tool I wished existed. Ziplicit pulls together competition, local demand, household spending capacity, and market growth trends for a ZIP code and a business category, then gives you one number and a clear explanation of what it means.

What a Ziplicit score is

Every score is calculated the same deterministic way. Same inputs, always produce the same number. Nothing about the score itself is generated or guessed.

The plain-language explanation that comes with it is written using generative AI, so you get a clear narrative instead of a wall of raw numbers. The AI explains. It never calculates.

A Ziplicit score measures market conditions. It doesn’t predict whether your specific business will succeed. Nobody can promise that, and anyone who does is selling you something else.

Where the data comes from

Every report covers more than 33,000 U.S. ZIP codes across 30 business categories. Every data point in a report is labeled one of three ways:

  • SourcedPulled directly from a named data source
  • EstimatedCalculated from sourced data using a defined method
  • AssumedUsed only when reliable local data doesn’t exist

If there isn’t enough real data to score a market honestly, Ziplicit says so instead of making up a number. You’ll see “insufficient data” before you’ll see a score we can’t stand behind.

What’s next

Search is changing. More people are asking ChatGPT, Gemini, and Perplexity for business recommendations instead of typing into Google. I’m building toward a second product, AI Discovery Intelligence, to help businesses understand whether AI platforms can actually find and describe them accurately. It’s not live yet. When it is, you’ll hear about it here first.

The short version

Research the market. Show the data. Say plainly what we know and what we don’t. Then let you decide.

If you’re weighing a new market, considering expansion, or advising someone who is, that’s what Ziplicit is built for.
